Discussion and Possible Action-Review of the June 25, 2024, ADAC Meeting Minutes Discussion of the 2025-2027 Draft Goal Review  Goals were created after organizing and reviewing information obtained from over 300 surveys, outreach sessions, and face-to-face conversations with seniors. Goals included: 1. Provide Advocacy training and educational opportunities by creating an advocacy website, and hosting sessions and events with local and state legislators. 2. Create coalition of non-Governmental officials, entities and local non for profits to help combat social isolation and loneliness. 3. Explore different ways to provide meals to areas in our county that are underserved. 4. Expand options for caregivers to help support their roles through advocacy training, self- care, resource guides, and by identifying create ways to hire non-professional support. 5. Implement Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWAAR) person-centered meal prioritization and waiting list policies to ensure those with the highest nutritional needs are being services while assisting those with moderate to low needs with information or services to help them optimize their nutritional status and enhance their quality of life. 6. Streamlining procedures and provider focused outreach strategies to enhancing current programs. Motion by Bland, seconded by Evenson to approve the June 25, 2024, meeting minutes. Motion passed. It will be included in the preview advertisements at the Bay Theater in Ashland. It will also be linked to other social media sites. o Public Health and Aging and Disability staff continue to partner taking the Health Department’s Wellness trailer into the community to bring vaccinations and information regarding wellness and other resources to seniors.  Social Isolation and Loneliness Grant Update o The first inaugural meeting of the Social Connections group took place on September 9, 2024, in Iron River. Sixteen people from five different communities attended.  Medicare Part D Open Enrollment begins October 15 and ends December 7, 2024 o During the Open Enrollment period, participants have the option to change coverage. o There are significant changes to Medicare this year that will impact seniors. o There are only 14 Part D programs to choose from, compared to 21 in 2023. o Essentia Clinics will no longer take Advantage Plans from Humana or United Health Care. These are very popular programs in our region so there are many seniors locally that will need to choose either a new plan or a new health care provider. 2024 Meeting Dates  November 19, 2024 Bland adjourned the meeting at 3:31 Minutes respectfully submitted by Heather Gilbertson, Clerk III
