Sanitary Pennit issuance, if required, needs to occur prior to Land Use Permit issuance. Failure to obtain a permit or starting construction without a permit will result in penalties. The local Town, Village, City, State or Federal agencies may also require permits. The new construction of one- & two-family dwellings requires review and approval by the local Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC) authority. Additions and alterations to one - and two-family dwellings may require review and approval by the UDC authority. All municipalities are required to enforce the UDC. On the application it is indicated that it is a 2 story project. Is the new addition part to be 2 stories? If so how large is the second level? Also the project indicates that there are to be 4 bedrooms in the structure. The septic installed in 1968 is only sized for a 2 bedroom structure. This discrepancy needs to be addressed. Either get a septic permit to install a larger system or reduce the number of bedrooms in the structure with fewer bedrooms.
