Bayfield County Personnel Committee Meeting

Meeting was Held In Person in the County Board Room and Virtually
Members Present: Marty Milanowski, Mary Dougherty, Dennis Pocernich, Madelaine
Rekemeyer, Fred Strand
Others Present: Mark Abeles-Allison County Administrator, Kristine Kavajecz-Human
Resources Director, Sue Rosa, Kim Mattson, Gail Reha, Jan Lee
Meeting called to order at 5:50pm by Chairman Pocernich.
Public Comment: None
Approval of Minutes of August 22, 2024: Motion Milanowski, Dougherty to approve minutes
of the October 10, 2024 Personnel Committee meeting. Motion Carried (5-0)
Changes to the Current Leave Policy and Movement to a Paid Time Off Policy: Kavajecz
reviewed the draft PTO policy. The draft policy will be shared with Department Heads and staff
for input with a potential January 1, 2025 implementation.
Reports
a. Personnel Financial Report as of October 31, 2024: Abeles-Allison reviewed the
financial report for personnel related expenses. The report was included in the
meeting packet.
b. Human Resources Report, October 2024: Reviewed by Kavajecz.
Motion Milanowski, Dougherty to enter into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes
§19.85(1) (c) (e) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation
data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises
responsibility: October 10, 2024, Closed Session Minutes, Department Personnel Topics. Motion
Carried (5-0) Entered closed session at 6:27pm.
Motion Dougherty, Milanowski to return to open session. Motion Carried (5-0) Returned to
open session 6:36pm.
Meeting adjourned at 6:36pm.
