The permit can be issued once the required fee has been received. The Planning and Zoning Committee approved the following fee: Strand moved to approve the after -the -fact fee of $500 plus the cost of the current land use permit fee for the second permit application, subject to Department verification of fees that have already been paid. Seconded by Crandall. Motion carried, 5-0. In 2023, you submitted two checks for $250 each. Because the application did not include a sanitary permit and therefore could not be approved, the checks were never cashed. The current Land Use Permit fee is based on square footage. Based on the dimensions listed on your application, the applicable square footage is: • Basement - Habitable: 513 sq. ft. • Attached Garage: 207 sq. ft. • First Floor - Habitable: 864 sq. ft. • Deck: 256 sq. ft. The applicable rates are $0.50/sq. ft. for habitable space and $0.20/sq. ft. for an attached garage and deck. The fee calculation is: • Habitable space: (513+864) x $0.50 = $688.50 • Garage and deck: (207 + 256) x $0.20 = $92.60 • After -the -fact fee: $500.00 • Total due: $1,281.10 For the garage, I used the dimensions of 11.5 ft. x 18 ft. from your expired application. If those dimensions need to be corrected, please let me know. Payment can be made by mailing or dropping off a check payable to Bayfield County Zoning, or by calling our front office at 715-373-6138, ext. 1 to pay by credit card, debit card, or e -check. Once the payment is received, the permit will be issued. We wilt void and shred the two previously submitted $250 checks. If you would prefer to have the voided checks returned to you by mail, please let me know. Please contact me if you have questions regarding the fee or the remaining steps to obtain the permit.
